okay, I’m finally going to write my own post to scatter amongst the millions around here, lol, of why I ship Shenny.
Penny is everything Sheldon needs, whether he realizes it or not, all rolled up into one. She’s one of if not his best friend, a sisterly and motherly figure for him too. She sings him “Soft Kitty”, talks to him or sometimes is just -there- for him when he needs it.
She stands up for Sheldon and stands up -to- him, which are sometimes the hardest things for friends to do for one another, especially in the first instance if it’s to another friend.
They have wonderful chemistry and really seem to be able to play off one another and just enjoy each other’s company.
But most of all, because she accepts him more fully than the others (at least I think so) for who he is. As someone who’s got plenty of people she loves in her life who share many traits with Sheldon including his social ineptitude, that means alot.
Yes, they fight, they banter, and all that. But hey…that’s part of being human and being friends. you don’t get along all the time. It’s not realistic. And even then, their chemistry shows through. (plus, it’s hilarious and us Shenny fans love watching it. XD)
He praises her and she him and they genuinely are delighted with each other when that happens, as if only each other’s opinions really matter…
They both still fumble to figure the other out fully, but the point is they try to, because, at the base of it…they care. they love each other. :)
other reasons for humor and just because they’re adorable…
- Penny has to bring him his bacon cheeseburger on Tuesdays.
- she’s good at Halo and therefore must be the 4th player.
- she can beat up bullies and get back lost Warcraft loot.
-she’d give him and everyone the best chance of survival in the wild with her “strong and brawny hands”
- she knows why his spot is his spot.
-she does laundry with him every Saturday because Saturday is laundry night.
